The SSC advises the principal on school programs and
budgets. We meet once a month for about an hour. Meetings
are held either in the Library (Room 8) or in the school
office. Light refreshments are provided. All individuals
who are interested in Pony Express’s academic activities are
invited to attend.
All elementary and middle schools have decided to participate in
the School Based Coordinated Program (SBCP) using School
Improvement Program funds; therefore, they are REQURIED to have
School Site Councils. (Some high schools have school site
councils to administer other programs and funds. The bylaws
of these councils govern their activities.) Half of the Council
members are school staff; the majority of this group must be
GATEPAC (GATE Parent Advisory Committee) focuses on needs,
recommendations, and informational items for our GATE program,
students, and families. Meetings to be held three times a
year. We encourage all parents of GATE students to
attend. Dates TBD.
Parents of English Learners meet four times a year to advise the
principal on the English Learner Programs and support services.
If you are a parent of an English Learner, we encourage you to
attend these meetings. Dates TBD.
